Edit a PDF: change text, add text, sign and mark up
Edit PDF is a page editor that runs in your browser. You can change existing text, add new text anywhere, insert images such as a logo or stamp, draw a signature, mark up pages with lines, rectangles, circles, and freehand annotation, and cover areas with white.
Your files are processed inside this browser tab and are not uploaded to Maher PDF. The OCR feature downloads a text-recognition engine the first time it is used; your file stays on your device. Please read the Privacy Policy before working with sensitive documents.
For scanned pages, the OCR button reads the text in the image so you can edit it. OCR downloads its recognition engine from a public code server the first time you use it; the page itself is processed on your device. Undo and redo are available for every change before you save.

Privacy and security
Editing runs in your browser and the file isn't uploaded. Important: Whiteout and text edits cover the original content visually; they are not certified redaction. Text underneath may still exist in the file. Don't rely on them to remove confidential information.
Common problems
- Edited text uses a different font.
- PDFs often contain fonts that can't be reused for new text. Pick the closest available font in the text panel.
- OCR doesn't start.
- OCR needs an internet connection the first time to download the recognition engine.
Tips
- For a signature that looks natural, sign with a finger or stylus on a phone or tablet.
- For large rewrites, convert to Word, edit, then convert back.
Frequently asked questions
Can I sign a PDF here?
Yes. Use the Sign tool to draw your signature and place it on the page. Note that this is a visual signature, not a certificate-based digital signature.
Is whiteout a safe way to redact?
No. It hides content visually but may leave the original text in the file.
Do I need an account to edit?
No account or sign-up is needed.
