Split a PDF into separate files
Split PDF takes one document and breaks it into several smaller PDFs. Use it to separate chapters of a manual, pull each invoice out of a monthly batch scan, or send only the relevant section of a long report.
Your files are processed inside this browser tab and are not uploaded to Maher PDF. Please read the Privacy Policy before working with sensitive documents.
You decide where the cuts go with a simple page-range field. Each group of pages becomes its own PDF, and all of the parts are delivered together in one ZIP file so nothing gets lost.
How to use Split PDF
- Tap Choose a PDF to split and pick your file. Page thumbnails appear so you can see what's on each page.
- In the page ranges field, describe the files you want. Use a semicolon to start a new output file:
1-3;4-6;7-10creates three files. - Inside one output file you can combine ranges with commas:
1-2,5;3-4makes one file with pages 1, 2 and 5, and a second with pages 3 and 4. - Leave the field empty if you want every page saved as its own single-page PDF.
- Tap Run. A ZIP file with all the parts downloads; open it to get the individual PDFs.
Key features
- Flexible ranges: single pages, spans, and combinations in one go.
- One-page-per-file mode when the range field is left blank.
- Pages are copied at full quality, with text kept selectable.
- All parts arrive in one ZIP named after your original file.
Supported files
Input: one PDF. Output: a ZIP file containing PDFs named yourfile_part1.pdf, yourfile_part2.pdf and so on. Most phones and computers can open ZIP files without extra apps.
Privacy and security
Splitting happens in this browser tab. The document is never uploaded, and the ZIP is created on your device.
Common problems
- I got an error about page ranges.
- Check that the numbers exist in your document (a 10-page PDF has no page 12) and that you used semicolons between files and commas or hyphens inside a file.
- I can't open the ZIP on my phone.
- On Android, open it from the Files app and tap Extract. On iPhone, tap the ZIP in the Files app and it unpacks into a folder.
Tips
- If you only need one section, Extract pages gives you a single PDF without a ZIP.
- To throw away a few pages rather than divide the file, use Remove pages.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the result come as a ZIP file?
Splitting usually creates several files at once. Packing them into one ZIP means you get a single download instead of many separate prompts.
Can I split a PDF into individual pages?
Yes. Leave the page ranges field empty and every page becomes its own PDF.
Does splitting change the content of the pages?
No. Each page is copied unchanged into its new file.
