Maher PDF

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how Maher PDF works, what happens to your files, and how to get the most out of the tools.

What is Maher PDF?

Maher PDF is a free website with 24 tools for working with PDF files: merging, splitting, compressing, converting to and from Word, Excel, PowerPoint and images, protecting with a password, and editing. The tools run inside your web browser.

Is Maher PDF free?

Yes. Every tool is free, with no account, no trial, and no watermark added to your files. The site is supported by advertising (Google AdSense) and optional donations.

How do I merge PDF files?

Open Merge PDF, choose two or more PDFs, drag them into order and tap Combine. You can then reorder, rotate, or remove individual pages before tapping Save merged PDF. The merging guide has more tips.

How do I convert PDF to Word?

Open PDF to Word, choose your PDF and tap Run. You get a .docx file that keeps fonts, sizes, colours, tables, and images where possible. Scanned pages are read with OCR. Complex layouts may need some tidying afterwards.

How do I compress a PDF?

Open Compress PDF, choose a file, pick Low, Medium, or High compression, check the preview and tap Run. Compression converts pages to images, so text in the result can't be selected or searched. It works best for scans and photo-heavy files.

Can I use Maher PDF on Android?

Yes. It works in Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, and Edge on Android. You can also install it from the browser menu (Add to Home screen or Install app) so it opens like an app.

Can I use it on iPhone or iPad?

Yes, in Safari or any other current browser on iOS and iPadOS. To install it, tap the Share button in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen.

Are my files stored?

No. Maher PDF has no file storage. When you choose a file, it is read by JavaScript running in your browser tab and processed on your device. The result is created on your device and saved through your browser's normal download. Maher PDF's servers only deliver the website itself.

How long are uploaded files retained?

Files aren't uploaded, so there is nothing for Maher PDF to retain. While a tool is open, your file exists in the browser tab's memory; it is released when you close the tool task or the tab. Downloaded results stay in your device's download folder until you delete them.

Does anything leave my device at all?

Your file content doesn't. The website loads its own code from maherpdf.com, Google AdSense loads advertising scripts, and the optional OCR feature (in Edit PDF, and in PDF to Word and PDF to Excel for scanned pages) downloads a text-recognition engine and English language data from public servers the first time it is used. Your document is not part of those downloads. See the Privacy Policy.

Does Maher PDF require an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login. Open a tool and use it.

Which browsers are supported?

Current versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari (iOS/iPadOS 15.4 and later, and macOS), Mozilla Firefox, and Samsung Internet. Very old browsers may not support the features the tools need; in that case you'll see a message asking you to update.

Does it work offline?

After the tools have loaded once, your browser keeps a copy, so most tools keep working without an internet connection. OCR needs a connection the first time it's used.

Is there a file size limit?

There's no fixed limit set by Maher PDF. Because processing happens on your device, the practical limit is your device's memory. Files of a few hundred megabytes can be slow or fail on phones; a computer handles larger files more comfortably.

Why didn't my download start?

Some browsers ask for permission to download files, or to download several files from one site. Allow downloads for maherpdf.com when prompted. On iPhone, downloads go to the Downloads folder in the Files app.

Can Maher PDF remove a password I don't know?

No. Unlock PDF only works when you enter the correct password. Maher PDF does not crack or bypass passwords.

How do I report a problem or suggest a tool?

Email support@maherpdf.com or use the contact page. Describe what you did and what happened, but please don't attach confidential documents.

Still need help?

Each tool page has its own steps and troubleshooting section. Start with the tool list, read the guides, or contact support.
