Scan paper documents to PDF with your phone
Scan to PDF turns photos of paper pages into a single PDF without installing a scanner app. On a phone, tapping the capture area opens the camera; take a photo of each page and they are collected in order.
Your files are processed inside this browser tab and are not uploaded to Maher PDF. Please read the Privacy Policy before working with sensitive documents.
It is handy for delivery notes, signed forms, receipts, and site paperwork that needs to be emailed quickly. Each photo becomes one page at its original resolution.
How to use Scan to PDF
- Tap Start scanning, then tap the capture area. Your phone offers the camera or your photo library.
- Photograph the first page. Tap the capture area again for each additional page; previous pages are kept.
- Drag the thumbnails if any page is out of order.
- Tap Combine. The PDF downloads as
scan.pdf.
Key features
- Uses your phone's own camera through the browser.
- Pages accumulate across taps, so multi-page documents are easy.
- Reorder pages before creating the PDF.
- Works with existing JPG and PNG photos too.
Supported files
Input: JPG or PNG images (photos taken through the browser camera are normally delivered as JPG). Other formats such as HEIC or WebP are not supported and will be skipped. Output: one PDF. The tool does not automatically crop or straighten photos, so frame each page carefully.
Privacy and security
Photos go straight from your camera into this browser tab and are combined there. They are not uploaded to Maher PDF.
Common problems
- My photo was skipped.
- It is probably in HEIC or WebP format. Take the photo through the capture area instead of choosing it from the gallery, or export the photo as JPG first.
- The PDF is very large.
- Phone photos are high resolution. Run the result through Compress PDF to make it email-friendly.
Tips
- Place the paper on a dark, plain surface and shoot from directly above to avoid skewed pages.
- Use daylight or bright, even light and avoid your own shadow over the page.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install an app?
No. It works in your phone's browser. You can also install Maher PDF to your home screen for quicker access.
Will the text in my scan be searchable?
No. Scanned pages are images. To edit or copy text from a scanned page, use the OCR option in Edit PDF or convert it with PDF to Word, which can read scanned pages.
